Migration agents are independent of the Department of Immigration
and must be registered by the Migration Agents Registration Authority
(MARA) which sets quality standards and controls. Many agents are
also members of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA). A migration
agent can provide fast service and can be useful in suggesting available
options. An agent will prepare your application correctly so that
it meets Australian migration regulations as these regulations may
change frequently. There are over 100 different classes of visa
and SMCA will inform you which is appropriate for your case. There
are usually set fees for different types of visas and services.
Following is a list of the more common categories
of visas:
- General Skilled Migration (Independent and Family
Sponsored)
- Family Migration
